Hi, I'm Shalene ...

grace-clinger, wife, and part-time homeschooling mama to five. Prior to my induction into motherhood, I was a magazine editor and writer, and it was in the publishing world that I fell in love with the fusion of words + imagery. My husband gifted me my first DSLR shortly after, and my genuine love of photography was born.

Now when not wading knee-deep through LEGOs, you'll find me photographing my own family or a handful of clients, running my vintage rug boutique, Lily & Loom, or blogging at FaithAndComposition. It was there that I penned my popular post, “When Mothering is Hard and No One Sees,” which has had more than 600,000 views worldwide.

As a mom of five, I have a unique knack for photographing families and children in a natural, engaging way. I take a small handful of clients in the Dallas/Fort Worth area each year, and I would consider it an honor to discuss your photography needs.

“Shalene! You have given me a gift that I will cherish forever. You perfectly captured Malena’s outward beauty, as well as her quite and courageous strength, which not many are privileged to experience by making her comfortable in front of the camera. I am so thankful to you for gifting me this moment on time of my girl.”
